Around 75,000 vehicles exported by Toyota this year are SUVs, including the Fortuner and Rush.
KatadataOTO – The total export figure for Toyota from Indonesia successfully reached its highest record of 3 million units in October 2025.
It should be noted that the Japanese manufacturer began exporting vehicles in 1987, with the first shipment going to Brunei Darussalam.
PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) revealed that Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV) are the main contributors.
These SUVs include three of Toyota's flagship models: Fortuner, Rush, and Raize.
Out of the total Toyota brand exports of 218,162 units, 79,558 units were SUVs.
In second place, Multi-Purpose Vehicles (MPVs) also contributed a large number, totaling 75,523 units.
The MPVs in question include the Kijang Innova, Kijang Innova Zenix (gasoline engine), Avanza, Town/Lite Ace, and Veloz.
The third-largest contribution to Toyota exports from Indonesia came from small cars, including Low-Cost Green Cars (LCGC) such as the Agya and Yaris Cross, totaling 47,333 units.
Hybrid car exports also showed positive results. 9,269 units of the Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid were exported, along with 6,479 units of the Yaris Cross Hybrid.
Overall, these export figures are a positive record and are expected to continue to grow even better in the future.
For comparison, as of 2024, Toyota's total exports were 166,531 units. This means there was an increase of about 31 percent throughout 2025.
Speaking of hybrid car exports, when compared to the achievements of previous years, the figures have also shown good growth.
Toyota's hybrid car exports in 2023 were 8,700 units, but then increased to 18,700 units in 2024.
So far, up to September 2025, Toyota's hybrid car exports have reached 15,748 units.
Considering Toyota's electrification line export target of 20 thousand units by the end of this year, the remaining units that need to be exported by the end of 2025 are 4,252 units of either the Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid or the Yaris Cross Hybrid.
In the long term, by 2030, Toyota hopes that 50 percent of the total vehicles they export will be from the hybrid car electrification line.
