The Suzuki Jimny has become a patrol car for Bogor Regency officials after being misused by a number of civil servants from the Regency Government.

KatadataOTO – The Bogor Regency Government will reassign the Suzuki Jimny, which has been used as an official vehicle, to become a patrol car. This decision was made by Rudy Susmanto, the Regent of Bogor, after discovering that the units were being misused by his staff.
At least six three-door Suzuki Jimny units purchased in 2023 have been used improperly. Even their license plates have been changed from red to black.
“During the vehicle inspection at Pakansari, I just found out about the Suzuki Jimny. It's not a new procurement because its tax expires in 2028, so it's being withdrawn to be used as a patrol car," said Rudy Susmanto, as reported by Antara (08/05).
The cars will later be used as patrol vehicles for the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), the Transportation Agency (Dishub), DPKPP parks, Pakansari Stadium, Command Center 112 outreach, and for the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) or the Fire Department (Damkar).
"The car was bought with the people's money, so it's unethical if it's only used by a head of a division. It should be used for public service," said Regent Rudy.
In addition, the cars will be fitted with stickers that read ‘Patrol Car” to prevent misuse.
"We cannot work alone. We need the role of all parties to advance services, infrastructure, and the region's image," said Regent Rudy Susmanto.
It should be noted that the 3-door Suzuki Jimny is a CBU (Completely Built-Up) car from Japan and was first launched in Indonesia at the 2019 GIIAS event.
Various advantages have been embedded, including its relatively small dimensions which make maneuvering easier. The car is recorded to have a length of 3,365 mm, a width of 1,645 mm, and a height of 1,720 mm.
Its powertrain uses a 15B engine capable of producing 102 hp and a torque of 130 Nm. To make it easier for customers to traverse difficult terrain, Suzuki added a ground clearance of 210 mm and a turning radius of 4.9 meters.
Several other safety features have also been installed, such as ISOFIX, SRS Dual Airbags, and an Immobilizer.
