KatadataOTO – The start of Polytron G3 and G3+ production in Cikarang received a positive response from Sam'ani Intakoris, the Regent of Kudus. This is because the brand is owned by PT Hartono Istana Teknologi, which originates from Kudus.
He even admitted that his party plans to make it an official government vehicle. For this purpose, they will discuss it with the Kudus Regency Government officials.
“PT Hartono Istana Teknologi, the owner of the Polytron brand, is a source of pride, and hopefully, it will become an innovation for the national automotive world. It is economical and also in line with the President of Indonesia's recommendation for us to start switching to electric vehicles” he said after test-driving a Polytron at the Kudus Regency Hall.
He also admitted that several features caught his attention. One of them is the automatic parking feature.
"This feature is very useful, especially for women who sometimes have difficulty parking," he said.
He hopes that in the future, the electric car can be produced directly in Kudus Regency. This would provide a greater multiplier economic effect, from job absorption, increased regional income through taxes, to boosting local economic growth.
Previously, it was reported that Polytron has officially started producing the G3 and G3+ at the Handal Indonesia Motor facility. Both models have their own advantages to meet the needs of customers in the country.
The Polytron G3+ comes with a quite attractive appearance thanks to its 20-inch wheels and 245/45 tires. The manufacturer has also included several additional features such as a panoramic sunroof and an electronic tailgate.
Meanwhile, the Polytron G3 is only equipped with 19-inch wheels and 235/50 tires. Features like the panoramic sunroof and electronic tailgate were removed to make its price more competitive.
Nevertheless, the cars have many similarities, including their dimensions. The unit is recorded as having a length of 4,720 mm, a width of 1,908 mm, a height of 1,696 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.
Both the Polytron G3 and G3+ are equipped with a 51.916 kWh LFP battery. This power is then used to operate an electric motor capable of producing 150 kW or about 201 hp and a peak torque of 320 Nm.
