KatadataOTO – Aprilia rider, Jorge Martin ended the 2025 Valencia MotoGP without managing to cross the finish line.

At that time, he was on the 14th lap of the 2025 Valencia MotoGP. However, as he was about to start the next lap, Jorge Martin instead entered the pit.

There were no visible problems with the bike or any accident involving Jorge Martin. This raised questions for many.

Recently, the Martinator revealed the reason behind this scenario. It turned out to be part of a strategy to safeguard Martin's health.

He also successfully completed a double long lap penalty from a crash that caused both him and Marco Bezzecchi to not finish in Japan.

“It didn't make sense for me to be out there. As you saw, (Johann) Zarco and Pecco (Francesco Bagnaia) crashed,” said Jorge Martin, quoted from Crash, Monday (17/11).

Furthermore, according to Martin, he still felt very tired and in pain from his injuries.

However, he was determined to at least complete a few laps first to greet the fans in his home country.

He then used the opportunity to directly test the latest settings on his race bike.

Aprilia then gave the signal for Jorge Martin to enter the pit immediately after completing 14 laps.

“I just wanted to greet the fans. It's strange because Valencia is always the best place to end the season and you can celebrate by returning to the garage,” said Martin.

With one year left on his contract with Aprilia, Jorge Martin is committed to maintaining his performance and focusing on next season.

“I will be more prepared to face risks and make up for some lost opportunities to win,” he asserted.

For your information, Jorge Martin will still race under the Aprilia banner for the 2026 MotoGP season despite being involved in a dispute and rumors of a move to Honda.

The decision to leave Aprilia had previously crossed Jorge Martin's mind because he felt he couldn't race at his maximum potential in the first six months of his debut with the team.

However, in July 2025, Jorge Martin finally confirmed he would stay with Aprilia for the entire 2026 season.

He will race alongside his garage mate, Marco Bezzecchi, who currently holds third place in the final 2025 MotoGP standings.
