KatadataOTO – Used cars are an attractive option for some people in Indonesia. One of the reasons is that the prices offered are more affordable.

Buying a used car doesn't always have a negative impact. It's not uncommon for sellers to market vehicles in the best condition.

However, as an owner looking to sell a used car, there are also special methods. Especially if you want the highest price.

“There are several things to consider when you want to sell a used car. The most important thing is that the unit's condition must be clean,” said Agung Iskandar, COO & Director of OLXmobbi at ICE BSD City, Tangerang (29/07).

It was said that if you want to come to a used car inspection site, the owner is required to wash the vehicle first.

This is useful to minimize assessment errors. Because if the car's body is dirty, it will look dull and reduce points.

Then it was mentioned that for the interior area, it must be ensured that there are no added accessories in any part.

“Most people don't pay attention because the more standard (factory), the better the price,” said Tan Chian Hok, Project Director of Astra Financial GIIAS 2025 at the same location.

Besides the interior, it was further stated that the vehicle's documents are no less important. Because if they are not complete, it can reduce the selling price.

Not just the STNK (Vehicle Registration Certificate) and BPKB (Vehicle Ownership Book) alone

“The car's purchase invoice, if still available, is even better. The service book, manual, and spare key can be important supporting factors,” explained Ahok, Tan Chian's nickname.

The fact that used cars in Indonesia are increasingly popular is supported by data from the OJK (Financial Services Authority). It was reported that financing for used vehicles grew by 10 percent year-on-year (yoy).

In the January – May 2025 period, the revenue reached Rp 118 trillion. Contributing 22 percent to the total national multifinance distribution.

Taking advantage of the GIIAS 2025 event, OLXmobbi is offering a used car trade-in program. Consumers' vehicles can be inspected directly on-site.

So visitors can immediately take a new car home from the exhibition.

They also provide financing services, insurance, and the convenience of digital transactions.
