KatadataOTO – Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) donated 1 unit of a Fortuner car to support the practical activities of students at State Vocational High School (SMKN) 2 Salatiga, Central Java. This is part of the company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) program in the field of education.
The donation of educational aids is in line with TMMIN's commitment to developing the capabilities of the nation's youth. The company strives to prepare the younger generation to face the industrial world, which requires work-ready graduates.
“We believe that vocational education is a crucial factor in supporting the quality of the nation's youth. Hopefully, this donation can be a real contribution to the development of vocational education programs in Indonesia,” said Bob Azam, Vice President Director of PT TMMIN.
TMMIN also has an Industrial Culture Implementation program in its partner vocational schools. This program instills industrial culture values from an early age, including discipline, efficiency, and work standards, so that students have a high competitive edge.
Thanks to this, students will have skills that meet the needs of the working world, making them better prepared to face the selection process and the challenges of a competitive industry.
TMMIN has continuously supported the revitalization and improvement of vocational education in the domestic industry. Previously, TMMIN also made donations to 28 partner vocational schools in West Java, Central Java, East Java, and the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
In addition to donating educational aids in the form of vehicles, TMMIN also provides certified training for teachers, consisting of 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain), Safety, Toyota Job Instruction, Toyota Production System, and Kaizen/improvement.
“The 'link and match' between the world of education and industry is a prerequisite for producing superior human resources. Schools must be able to produce graduates with capable competencies so they can contribute to the needs of the industry,” Bob Azam later affirmed.
The involvement of industry in the partner vocational school development program is believed to enhance the work capabilities of graduates. This is because the prepared curriculum reflects the needs of the industry.
Therefore, companies do not need to conduct lengthy training to develop human resources that meet their needs.
