KatadataOTO – Throughout 2025, Indonesia saw the arrival of several new models from Chinese manufacturers. Competitive prices and capable technology have made them highly sought after by domestic consumers.

Sales of Chinese car brands also recorded positive retail results. As of November 2025, BYD still leads as the best-selling Chinese brand in Indonesia.

BYD's retail sales (distribution from dealers to consumers) reached 8,243 units towards the end of the year. This figure was achieved thanks to the presence of the compact electric car Atto 1, which debuted at GIIAS 2025.

The BYD Atto 1 is one of the most affordable electric cars offered in the country. Its lowest-priced model is sold for around IDR 199 million on the road in Jakarta.
