KatadataOTO – Toyota apologizes to customers because the delivery of the Veloz Hybrid is taking quite a long time. Even though orders for the model have been open since the end of 2025.
However, the Japanese manufacturer has started to be more open regarding the delivery time. So it is hoped that consumers can be more comfortable while waiting for their orders to arrive in their garages.
“We apologize to consumers for the long wait, but Toyota will do its best to make deliveries faster, especially for those who have pre-booked,” said Henry Tanoto, Vice President of PT. Toyota-Astra Motor in Jakarta (26/01).
He also explained that deliveries will be made next month. So it is hoped that customers can use the car to meet their needs for the 2026 Eid homecoming.
“So later we will gradually start sending the Toyota Veloz Hybrid starting in February 2026,” he then added.
Since being displayed at the 2025 Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week until the end of December, 4,000 units of the Toyota Veloz Hybrid have been successfully ordered. Of that number, the V type is said to be the most in-demand by the public.
“Of the total orders, 60 percent are the V type, after that there are other type variants. So the remaining 40 percent is divided among them,” explained Henry Tanoto.
He also revealed that the high demand for the V type is not solely because it is the cheapest. He believes that people choose this variant because it suits their respective mobility needs.
“Price may be one of the important factors why customers choose it. But customer needs are also still met in that type,” he then added.
It should be noted that the Toyota Veloz comes with an appearance that is not much different from its conventional type. However, the T emblem on the Veloz Hybrid is framed with a blue accent and there is an additional badge with the word Hybrid on the back.
This family car is embedded with a 1,500 cc 4-cylinder 16-valve DOHC 2NR-VEX engine, claimed to produce 109.4 hp of power and 121 Nm of torque. The powertrain is paired with a hybrid system supported by an electric motor with 79 hp of power, 141 Nm of torque, and a 0.74 kWh NMC battery.
