KatadataOTO – The presence of the Toyota bZ3X in China has caught the attention of automotive enthusiasts in Indonesia. This is because the model has an attractive design and a fairly affordable price compared to the bZ4X.

Reporting from CarNewsChina, the price of the Toyota bZ3X is only around IDR 246 million. This price tag is certainly more affordable compared to other electric models, so it's understandable that many hope it will be brought to the country.

“In the future, there are indeed plans to bring a new electric car to Indonesia, but I cannot share the details yet. For the record, the Toyota bZ3X is a product for the Chinese market which is currently still left-hand drive,” said Anton Jimmi Suwandy, Marketing Director of Toyota Astra Motor to KatadataOTO (10/03).

Although he did not mention the model, he revealed that there is an open possibility the vehicle will be produced directly in Indonesia.

“I can't comment in detail yet, but what is certain is that all options are open and being studied, including local production,” he then affirmed.

He also revealed that the current electrification vehicle market in Indonesia, both electric and hybrid, is quite promising. Therefore, his party is emboldened to be more aggressive in the future.

It was previously reported that the Toyota bZ3X was officially launched in China. The model is a result of a collaboration with GAC and utilizes the platform from the Aion V.

In terms of appearance, Toyota still maintains the hammerhead design as on the bZ4X, making it look quite bold. The side mirror area is also wrapped in black, adding to the sporty impression of the SUV.

Although it only has a five-passenger configuration, the dimensions of the Toyota bZ3X are quite large. The car has a length of 4,600 mm, a width of 1,875 mm, and a height of 1,645 mm.

Entering the cabin, the interior of the Toyota bZ3X is minimalist and without many physical buttons. In the center, there is a 14.6-inch head unit.

The car is equipped with an LFP (Lithium Ferro Phosphate) battery in three variants, starting from 50.0 kWh, 58.4 kWh, and 67.9 kWh. Thanks to this, the bZ3X can travel as far as 430 km, 520 km, or 610 km on a single charge.

As for the powertrain, this Toyota electric car is equipped with electric motors producing 150 kW and 165 kW. It is claimed to be able to propel the bZ3X up to 160 km per hour.
