KatadataOTO – Toyota's production (including Lexus) worldwide has successfully increased for the first time in the past year. The Japanese company recorded a production figure of 781,729 units, an increase of 5.6 percent from the same period in 2024.
This growth is claimed to be due to the resolution of certification issues that had previously plagued Toyota. Additionally, the introduction of new models has also renewed public interest in the manufacturer.
This result is inseparable from the large number of cars they successfully introduced, especially in their home country. They recorded the production of 265,999 units, a growth of 22.3 percent compared to January of last year.
Unfortunately, for production numbers outside of Japan, they continued to decline with a result of 515,730 units. This figure is 1.4 percent less than last year's result.
This situation is linked to the decline in production in Indonesia and Thailand due to strict vehicle credit requirements and other factors.
Meanwhile, Daihatsu's production reached 92,434 units worldwide. That figure is claimed to be 151.6 percent higher than the achievement in the same period last year.
Of that total, production from Japan was quite dominant, reaching 58,563 units.
Meanwhile, production outside of Japan faced pressure, with only 33,871 units, a decrease of 7.8 percent from the same period in 2024.
A positive record was also achieved by Hino, which produced 11,183 units in January 2025. That achievement is 2.6 percent higher than the same month in 2024.
Its achievement was dominated by Japanese-made production, which reached 8,199 units. This was a 4.7 percent decrease compared to the achievement in January 2024.
However, for production outside of Japan, the achievement was quite good, growing by 29.5 percent to 2,984 units.
With this, Toyota global successfully produced at least 885,346 units. This figure grew by 12.4 percent compared to the same period last year.
Of that total, vehicles produced in Japan reached 332,761 units, a growth of 47.2 percent.
Then, vehicles made outside of Japan amounted to 552,585 units, a decrease of 1.7 percent.
