The special edition Toyota GR Yaris Morizo RR can only be purchased through the GR App, and units are limited.
KatadataOTO – Toyota GR Yaris Morizo RR, a special edition of the GR Yaris, was officially launched at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026 which opened today.
Looking different from the standard variant, the Toyota GR Yaris Morizo has a sportier exterior thanks to several additions such as carbon material on the hood and yellow-colored brake calipers.
This time, the spoiler on the rear of the GR Yaris is also larger, strengthening the bold impression of the model.
“(The Toyota GR Yaris Morizo RR) is also equipped with a carbon-fiber rear spoiler, developed while competing in the Nurburgring 24 Hours,” wrote Toyota's official statement, quoted on Friday (09/01).
Then, the color of the wheels has been changed to a bright golden hue, making the overall appearance of the GR Yaris even more eye-catching.
The Toyota GR Yaris Morizo RR was developed directly by Akio Toyoda, the Toyota Corporation Chairman.
It should be noted that Toyoda, who is also a race car driver, uses the name Morizo to compete in championships such as rallies.
In the process, Akio Toyoda adapted much of the driving sensation from competing as Toyota Gazoo Rookie Racing, or TGRR, in the 2025 Nurburgring 24 Hours endurance race.
On this special edition of the Toyota GR Yaris, the vehicle's downforce is increased thanks to the placement of an exclusive rear spoiler. Then, the suspension is adjusted to maintain tire grip across various road contours, including on the circuit.
Then, the model's Electric Power Steering (EPS) system has been adjusted. As a result, the Toyota GR Yaris Morizo RR is claimed to remain compatible for use as a daily vehicle without losing its sporty DNA.
In terms of features, the Toyota GR Yaris Morizo RR is equipped with an exclusive 4WD control developed with Akio Toyoda. Morizo Mode replaces Gravel, and its function is to regulate torque distribution to the wheels evenly as needed.
The interior maintains a sporty, minimalist yet functional impression. On the steering wheel and seats, yellow stitching is visible as one of the main differentiators from the standard GR Yaris variant.
To add to the exclusive impression, a special plate with 'Morizo RR' written on it is placed in the car's cabin.
For interested consumers, this model will be sold in a limited quantity of 100 units in the Japanese market and another 100 units in Europe.
Uniquely, the purchase of the Toyota GR Yaris Morizo RR is through a lottery which can be accessed via the GR App.
In Indonesia, the standard version of the Toyota GR Yaris is already on sale. Currently, the price is Rp 1.16 billion for the manual transmission variant and Rp 1.21 billion for the automatic transmission.
