Toyota GR Yaris Special Edition Debuts, Tribute to WRC World Champion

KatadataOTO – The Toyota GR Yaris has become one of the icons from the Japanese manufacturer, closely associated with rally racing. This time, its special edition is being launched again as a tribute to Sebastien Ogier.

Sebastian Ogier himself is a rally driver who has secured nine World Rally Championship (WRC) world champion titles.

Therefore, a special edition Toyota GR Yaris has been introduced to commemorate Sebastian Ogier's achievements.

“The Toyota GR Yaris Sebastian Ogier 9x World Champion Edition is equipped with many exclusive features following Ogier's preferences and individuality, using the GR Yaris ‘Aero Performance Package’ base which will debut in 2025,” wrote Toyota in an official statement, quoted on Sunday (25/01).

While previous variants had a driving mode named Morizo, this time there is the addition of Seb Mode.

Interestingly, the development of this feature on the Toyota GR Yaris directly involved Sebastian Ogier.

The Seb driving mode replaces Track. This feature controls the car's Four Wheel Drive (4WD), distributing torque to the front and rear wheels with a 40:60 ratio.

This torque distribution is specially designed not to reduce steering response when being used by the driver.

Complementing the Seb mode is Morizo, which replaces the Gravel Mode on this special edition Toyota GR Yaris.

Morizo Mode manages the 4WD system and maximizes it, especially during acceleration. Power is only reduced when the driver brakes, thereby increasing traction and performance when tackling corners.

The color on the Toyota GR Yaris Sebastien Ogier 9x Word Chmpion is specially formulated and named Black Gravite. This color symbolizes the activities of Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) throughout 2025.

The bold exterior look is supported by the use of matte black wheels and Sebastian Ogier-style blue brake calipers.

Then on the grille area, there is a blue, white, and red badge inspired by Sebastian Ogier's national flag, France.

As for the interior, the cabin is dominated by black to support the sporty impression of the special edition Toyota GR Yaris.

The steering wheel is designed to suit motorsport needs, so its outer diameter is smaller. It is also equipped with tricolor stitching that combines blue, gray, and red.

Just like other special edition GR Yaris models, prospective customers must enter a lottery purchase through the official application.

The opening of orders will begin in the spring of 2026 or around March 20. Availability is also limited to only 200 units.
