KatadataOTO – Toyota Motor Corporation introduced Woven City at the Consumer Electronic Show or CES 2025 in Las Vegas, United States. The city is planned to adopt various technologies to provide comfort for its residents.

Interestingly, Toyota announced that the first phase of construction has been completed. Thousands of people will move in to become the first residents of the city located at the foot of Mount Fuji.

“This year, residents will start moving in and bringing Woven City to life. As each phase is completed, the population will grow to about 2,000 people, including Toyota employees and their families, retirees, industry partners, and academics,” said Akio Toyoda, Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation

He also revealed that Woven City will eventually become a city with low-emission transportation. This is claimed to be in line with the expectations of the development they have been carrying out.

“Woven City is a mobility testbed, where we can develop various solutions. From private vehicles to drones to facilitate transportation, especially at night,” he then added.

He also confirmed that a number of autonomous vehicles will be present in Woven City. Not only for human mobility, but the technology will also be used for the delivery of goods and services.

“As a driver, I personally feel that autonomous vehicles are boring. But when we showed two race cars that could drive by themselves, it turned out I really liked it,” Akio Toyoda then added.

Therefore, he also ensured that autonomous vehicles will be a mainstay in the city.
The many technologies that will be used by Toyota show their seriousness in developing mobility. This will also be used in other countries, including Indonesia.

Moreover, Toyota Indonesia has become a manufacturer that is aggressively developing technology in the country. One example is in the vehicle production process, which already uses a number of robots, thus ensuring the vehicle's quality is maintained.

In addition, cars made by Toyota are now also equipped with hybrid technology, making them low-emission. This is certainly very important to ensure the creation of environmentally friendly mobility
