Toyota New bZ4X BEV Locally Produced and Urban Cruiser BEV Launched

KatadataOTO – The year-end automotive exhibition, Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW 2025), presents many new stars. A number of new products are displayed to entice visitors.

PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) brought three electrification models that could excite the market. Besides unveiling the Veloz Hybrid EV, the locally produced Toyota New bZ4X Battery EV and the stylish New Urban Cruiser Battery EV were also launched.

These two battery-powered electric SUVs have their own appeal. Each offers a green mobility solution in the country.
Especially the Toyota New bZ4X Battery EV, which is already produced domestically. The vehicle appears more enticing thanks to performance improvements.

“With various improvements, the New bZ4X Battery EV is an ideal choice for customers. Especially for those who want to experience electric driving as a complement to the vehicles they already own,” said Henry Tanoto, Vice President Director of PT TAM at ICE BSD City (21/11).

The Toyota bZ4X Battery EV was first introduced in Indonesia at the GIIAS 2022 event. The car is tangible proof of Toyota's support for the government's program to reduce emissions.

Using the e-TNGA platform specifically designed for the bZ4X electric car, it allows for the placement of a slim battery under the vehicle's floor.

The placement of the power storage gives the vehicle a low center of gravity. Resulting in an ideal front-rear weight balance and a rigid body.

Then at the GIIAS 2025 event, the locally produced Toyota bZ4X Battery EV was exhibited for the first time. However, the SUV could not be immediately purchased by consumers.

Taking advantage of the GJAW 2025 moment, the domestically made Toyota New bZ4X Battery EV is now on sale. Performance is one of the focuses of the vehicle's changes.

The unit's battery capacity is larger at 73.11 kWh. This allows the New bZ4X Battery EV to travel 525 km on a single charge.
The output of the New bZ4X Battery EV now reaches 165 kW, equivalent to 221.2 hp. Thus providing a greater experience for consumers.

Meanwhile, the battery itself is guaranteed for up to 8 years or 160,000 km. There is also a free EV battery health check.

On the exterior, the New bZ4X uses the new Hammerhead design. Making the vehicle's appearance fresher.

Entering the cabin, you are presented with a new dashboard shape and ambient light. Adding an elegant impression to the car. Then there is the latest form of the panoramic roof, which gives a spacious feel.
