KatadataOTO – PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) officially celebrates 3 million exported cars to 100 countries cumulatively since 1987.

In line with the target set some time ago, the 3 million figure was finally achieved in October 2025.

This positive achievement was successfully obtained amidst the various automotive challenges that occurred throughout this year.

“This is a reminder of Indonesia's extraordinary capabilities,” said Koji Sato, President of Toyota Motor Corporation in Karawang, on Thursday (09/10).

He revealed that Toyota's long journey began a long time ago and has been able to continue thanks to collaboration with various parties.

As was done with Daihatsu in creating competitively priced and small-dimensioned vehicles, reaching more consumers in the country.

Starting from the Kijang in 1977 to the presence of the latest generation Kijang Innova Zenix, Toyota continues to innovate to contribute to both domestic and global markets.

“Together with many partners as the Toyota Group, we will continue to work hard to make even better cars for the Indonesian people and for the prosperity of the country,” he affirmed.

It should be noted that these exports are a combination of the Toyota Brand, including models under the Daihatsu brand.

The presence of Toyota's electrification line, such as the Kijang Innova Zenix and Yaris Cross, has also contributed to boosting exports in the global market.

The government also expressed its appreciation and will continue to support Toyota in developing the domestic automotive industry.

“Starting from (exports to) Brunei in 1987 and now reaching 100 countries, this is tangible proof of Indonesia's competitiveness on the global stage,” affirmed Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, on the same occasion.

In the future, Toyota is still targeting a number of countries as export destinations.

According to Toyota, the enthusiasm is quite visible and there is great potential. The models that have contributed the most so far include the Yaris Cross and Veloz.

Toyota is also optimistic about reaching the next export record of 4 million units in an even shorter time.
