KatadataOTO – The arrival of the Toyota Veloz Hybrid in Indonesia is getting closer. This model is believed to be coming before the end of 2025.

This is in line with Toyota's commitment to present hybrid cars that can reach more consumers.

Currently, some of Toyota's hybrid models include the Kijang Innova Zenix, Yaris Cross, Corolla Cross, and the latest Corolla Altis GR Sport.

The Toyota Veloz is touted as the newest hybrid car from PT TAM, considering the product fills the Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) segment, which is popular among the people of the country.

When confirmed about the arrival of the Toyota Veloz Hybrid, PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) affirmed that the model is indeed planned to hit the roads soon.

The product will then be produced locally. It should be noted that the conventional engine Toyota Veloz previously had a Local Content Level (TKDN) of 70 percent.

Therefore, various components from the previous model can be used on the Toyota Veloz Hybrid, especially if the body and interior designs do not change drastically.

However, it is certain there will be more effort to produce the Veloz Hybrid domestically. One of which is an injection of fresh funds.

“We'll just wait and see. Clearly (the investment will increase),” said Nandi Julyanto, President Director of PT TMMIN, when met in Jakarta on Monday (25/08).

If the Toyota Veloz Hybrid is made domestically, many production costs can be reduced. This would allow the product's price tag to be more competitive in the market.

Unfortunately, Nandi was reluctant to comment on the price range of the Toyota Veloz Hybrid

“Pricing is the distributor's business,” Nandi said briefly.

For context, the Toyota Veloz is currently sold domestically starting from Rp 297.2 million for the manual transmission type.

Meanwhile, the highest variant, the CVT TSS with Premium Color, is sold for Rp 346.4 million. This figure is on-the-road for Jakarta.

Then, based on information KatadataOTO obtained from a salesperson, the price range for the Toyota Veloz Hybrid is upwards of Rp 300 million.

“The price (of the Toyota Veloz Hybrid) will likely be in the Rp 350 million to Rp 360 million range,” a Toyota salesperson told KatadataOTO some time ago.

He even claimed to have already opened a waiting list for consumers interested in buying the Toyota Veloz Hybrid.

If interested, prospective customers only need to prepare a booking fee of around Rp 5 million.
