Wuling Cortez Darion EV Price Rises by Rp 40 Million in Early 2026

KatadataOTO – In early January 2026, the prices of the Wuling Darion EV and its hybrid PHEV variant had not yet been adjusted.

However, in the middle of the month, the manufacturer adjusted the prices for all types of the Wuling Darion EV and PHEV.

Based on KatadataOTO's findings, the price increases vary. The Wuling Darion CE EV was adjusted from IDR 359 million to IDR 399 million, an increase of IDR 40 million.

Then, the price of its highest type, the Wuling Darion EX EV, went from IDR 419 million to IDR 459 million.

Adjustments were also made for the hybrid version. The Wuling Darion CE PHEV was raised by IDR 7 million to IDR 449 million, while the Darion EX PHEV is offered at IDR 499 million.

The pure electric variant experienced the highest increase compared to the PHEV type. This was also confirmed by a salesperson.

“Currently, there is a price adjustment due to the impact of the Value Added Tax (VAT) subsidy. The Darion EV EX is now IDR 459 million,” said a Wuling salesperson when contacted by KatadataOTO on Saturday (17/01).

It should be noted that the discontinuation of the electric car incentive, in the form of a 10 percent government-borne VAT (PPN DTP) discount, is the main factor behind the price surge for Wuling's environmentally friendly products.

That discount was given for electric cars assembled domestically, including the Wuling Cortez Darion EV.

To date, the government has not yet issued subsidies or incentives for electric cars like those provided in previous years.

The Wuling Cortez Darion EV was launched at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show or GIIAS 2025.

The electric variant of the Cortez Darion is equipped with a 69.2 kWh capacity battery, enabling the car to travel up to 540 kilometers on a single full charge.

Meanwhile, the Wuling Cortez Darion PHEV uses a combination of a 1,500 cc gasoline engine with an electric motor and a 20.5 kWh battery. Its pure electric range is claimed to be 125 kilometers.
