KatadataOTO – Recently, Pertamina Patra Niaga faced a significant storm. This is because the AGO (Attorney General's Office) revealed alleged adulteration of Pertamax.
However, they are now asking the public to continue buying fuel from the state-owned enterprise.
“We urge you not to abandon Pertamina because we must continue to love our own products,” said Febrie Adriansyah, Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the AGO, as quoted by Antara on Thursday (06/05).
He also asked motorcycle and car drivers not to worry, even though the case is related to product quality.
According to Febrie, the AGO and Pertamina have coordinated to ensure that the Pertamax sold to the public meets the standards.
He further stated that the case of adulterated fuel affecting the RON of Pertamina products only occurred until 2023.
However, Pertamax now meets its specifications. Therefore, it is hoped that drivers will use the fuel again.
“What is clear is that the investigation revealed there were definitely mistakes until 2023, remember, until 2023,” said Febrie.
Febrie explained that the AGO is handling the case with the aim of cleaning up Pertamina. The hope is that the company will have better and stronger business governance in the future.
“We must ensure that Pertamina's business can run better. And with Eid and the homecoming exodus approaching, this certainly involves a very large demand,” Febri emphasized.
As previously reported by Katadata, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) through the Oil and Gas Testing Center (Lemigas) has conducted laboratory tests on a number of fuel samples from gas stations.
From the test results, all samples examined were within the required quality limit range.
The samples were taken from the Pertamina Plumpang Fuel Terminal, as well as a number of gas stations in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and South Tangerang.
“We are releasing the test results so that the public can be confident that the fuel they use complies with the standards set by the government,” said Mustafid Gunawan, Head of Lemigas, in an official statement on Saturday (01/03).
For your information, the main testing parameters are the octane number (RON) which indicates fuel quality, density, sulfur content, vapor pressure, and distillation, all of which must comply with standards.
