KatadataOTO - At the end of January 2026, Shell's fuel oil (BBM) stock was empty again. Especially in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) area.

According to KatadataOTO monitoring, this situation has been ongoing for several recent days. Consequently, drivers have difficulty obtaining the Shell Super product.

Citing the official Shell Indonesia website on Saturday (31/01), only a handful of Shell gas stations still have fuel stock.

Even in the Jakarta area, the public can find Shell fuel at only four stations. For example in the Meruya Utara to Semper area.

Then, in the Banten region, two Shell stations remain that still offer 92-octane fuel.

Meanwhile, the West Java area has slightly more, namely five locations. One of them is available in Cibinong.

On the other hand, the stock of Shell Super fuel in the East Java region is still abundant. According to compiled data, it is available at 26 locations.

The highest concentration is in the Surabaya area with 13 points. Ranging from Banyu Urip, Citraland, Dupak, Diponegoro, Kalijudan to Raya Mastrip.

The remaining Shell Super fuel stock in East Java is spread across Malang, Sidoarjo, Blitar, Gresik, Jombang, and Tuban.

For information, the shortage of Shell Super fuel has been occurring since 2025. Therefore, this is not the first event.

Usually, products from this yellow-shell-logo gas station will become available again. Especially since at the beginning of the year the government approved a fuel import quota for the 2026 period.

"We do not provide it all at once; there is a periodization. So later (through the process) there will also be evaluation," said Laode Sulaeman, Director General of Oil and Gas, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, as reported by Katadata some time ago.

The government previously granted import quotas for private gas stations. Laode did not detail the volume amount provided by the government.
