The Total Support Program represents Hino's commitment as a business partner in maintaining the condition of Pertamina's fleet.
KatadataOTO – PT Hino Motors Sales Indonesia (HMSI) is taking part in supporting the performance safety of Pertamina's fleet of tanker trucks as a business partner in the commercial vehicle sector.
Through the Total Support program, Hino provides a Senior Inspector or vehicle inspector to ensure the overall reliability and condition of the vehicles.
“Hino understands that to maintain the continuity of customers' business, vehicles must always be in prime condition, safe, and efficient,” said Pieter Andre, Training Division Head of PT HMSI in Tangerang, on Monday (28/07).
Based on data collected by Hino, throughout 2024 there have been more than 152,000 traffic accidents with a total of over 27,000 fatalities.
Of those hundreds of thousands of accidents, 27,337 of them were incidents involving freight transport, or about 10 percent of the total accidents, and claimed more than 6,000 victims.
Meanwhile, for 2025 itself, in the January-June period, there were 70,749 accidents. Actually, this figure is down 2.50 percent from the same period in 2024 (72,638 accidents).
He also emphasized that the condition of the engine, brakes, steering, and even lights can be a cause of accidents.
Therefore, a number of strategies need to be implemented to reduce the number of these accidents, one of which is through the presence of vehicle inspectors.
Thus, the vehicle's condition can be ensured to be prime before it is dispatched. Then, driver checks and driving behavior also deserve attention.
The role of the Senior Inspector is very important here. Hino revealed that the inspector in question will be an experienced technical expert in conducting vehicle inspections.
They can also provide recommendations for preventive maintenance, thus helping to prevent serious damage and avoid the potential for soaring repair costs.
The Total Support program is expected to provide added value for customers in reducing the potential for sudden breakdowns and ensuring vehicles operate in accordance with regulations and road safety standards.
“Investigations by the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) found that some accidents caused by vehicle factors should not have occurred if a proper and correct inspection had been carried out from the beginning,” said Ahmad Wildan, a Senior Investigator at KNKT, on the same occasion.
