KatadataOTO – Ipone, as a lubricant for motorcycles, has launched three new oil variants in Indonesia. They also introduced a new packaging design for all their flagship products.

The launch itself took place at the Iron Pipe – Builders Motoshow 2025 event at Laswi Heritage, Bandung, West Java (19/07).

The three new variants released to the public include Ipone M4, Ipone M4 Scoot, and Ipone R400 Scoot.

Each product is said to target daily 4-stroke motorcycle and scooter riders.

“Ipone has been known in the premium and 2-stroke motorcycle segments, but now we want to reach more daily motorcycle riders,” said Kahfi Irawan, Brand Manager of Motul Indonesia, in a press release quoted on (20/07).

It was further stated that the launch of Ipone's new lubricant is a form of their courage as a brand, allowing them to be more inclusive while still maintaining quality.

Ipone M4 Scoot is formulated as a special oil for 4-stroke scooter type motorcycles. The variant is available in 10W-30 and 10W-40 viscosities.

The packaging itself comes in two options: 1 liter and 0.8 liter. As for quality, it already meets the JASO MB and API SN standards.

M4 Scoot is claimed to provide optimal engine protection as well as smooth and efficient acceleration, making it ideal for daily use on city streets.

Meanwhile, the Ipone M4 variant is designed as an oil for 4-stroke underbone and daily sport motorcycles. This product is available in viscosity options of 10W-30, 10W-40, and 20W-50.

Then there are packaging options of 1 liter and 0.8 liter. Ipone M4 is said to use high-quality additives and meets JASO MA2 and API SN standards.

Ipone M4 is believed to be able to maintain engine cleanliness and stable performance in heavy traffic conditions.

Meanwhile, Ipone R4000 Scoot 10W-40 is here to replace the Scoot 4 10W-40 variant. This latest version of the semi-synthetic lubricant targets modern scooters and maxi-scooters.

Its quality standards are API SP and JASO MB.

Available in 1-liter and 0.8-liter packaging options, Ipone R4000 Scoot is said to be suitable for both daily and touring motorcycle users.

Ipone's new look now features a Japanese manga motif. This move is considered bold for an oil manufacturer.

“We want to dare to be different, not only in terms of formula, but also visually. Manga represents the spirit of the younger generation and creative communities,” said Kahfi.
