Get ready, the Jakarta Government will raise vehicle parking rates

Jakarta parking rates will increase to mark DKI's anniversary, with the aim of reducing traffic congestion.

KatadataOTO – Pramono Anung Wibowo, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, is preparing various programs to welcome the capital city's anniversary. Not just celebrations, he also plans to create several policies that will affect the public.
One of the main highlights is the plan to increase parking rates for vehicles in the Capital City. This is being done to provide subsidies for public transportation for certain groups of people.
“My apologies to those who are well-off, but I will gradually increase the parking rates,” said Pramono Anung Wibowo, as reported by Antara some time ago.
Furthermore, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will also implement an Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system. With the increase in parking rates and the implementation of ERP, it is hoped that the use of private vehicles in Jakarta can be reduced.
Both policies are expected to reduce the public's dependence on private vehicles. This way, the traffic congestion that often occurs in the Capital City can be lessened.
Unfortunately, as of the writing of this news, there is no information on the amount of the new rates that will be charged to the public.
Another program attracting attention ahead of Jakarta's anniversary is the vehicle tax amnesty. This relief is given to all motorcycle and car owners in the Capital City by waiving administrative sanctions for motor vehicle tax (PKB).
“This policy is stipulated in the Decree of the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Revenue Agency Number e-0046 of 2025 concerning the Ex-Officio Abolition of Administrative Sanctions for Motor Vehicle Tax and Motor Vehicle Title Transfer Fees,” reads the announcement on the official website of the DKI Jakarta Bapenda, Friday (13/06).
However, the program will only run from June 14 to August 31, 2025. Thanks to this, administrative sanctions in the form of interest arising from late payment of taxes owed or fines will be waived.
The public does not need to apply to receive this benefit, as it is granted automatically by the system upon payment.
“We will continue to work hard to ensure that every policy implemented aims to improve the quality of life for our citizens,” concluded Lusiana Herawati, Head of the DKI Jakarta Bapenda.
