New Year's Eve Puncak Car Free Night Schedule

KatadataOTO – Car Free Night will be held again in the Puncak area, Bogor on the eve of the New Year 2025 to 2026. With this regulation, vehicles will not be allowed to pass on the Puncak highway.

Traffic will later be diverted to alternative routes to continue moving towards the intended destination. Therefore, the public is expected to recalculate their travel time to avoid getting stuck in congestion.

The traffic diversion from Jakarta to Puncak will begin on Wednesday (31/12) at 18:00 WIB. Later, all vehicles from the Ciawi toll gate exit will be directed to the Bocimi toll road.

This traffic diversion will last until Thursday (01/01) at around 06:00 WIB.

After closing the road, the police will gradually clear the traffic. Then at 21:00 WIB, the Car Free Night will be implemented, so all vehicles will not be allowed to pass.

This prohibition is confirmed to apply to all types of vehicles, both cars and motorcycles. A number of alternative roads commonly used by the public will also be closed to prevent violations.

Traffic will only be open for emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks.

Prepare Alternative Routes

The police have prepared alternative routes for those who want to go to Bandung or Cianjur. However, this route is a bit of a detour compared to the Puncak route, so the public is expected to consider it more carefully.

For those who want to go to Cianjur from Jakarta, they can go through Cibubur then Jonggol and head towards Cianjur.

Meanwhile, for residents from the Ciawi direction to Cianjur, it is recommended to pass through Sukabumi.

It should be noted that Car Free Night on the Puncak route has become a routine activity every New Year's Eve. This is because this regulation is considered optimal in reducing traffic congestion.
