KatadataOTO – Subsidized fuel oil (BBM) is still widely misused. Especially by irresponsible four-wheeled vehicle drivers.

This can certainly be detrimental to the state. Because Pertalite and subsidized diesel are used by those who are not entitled to them.

Therefore, Pertamina is taking action against car owners who commit fraud when purchasing subsidized fuel.

This is done as an effort to strengthen supervision, ensure the accuracy of distribution, and maintain fairness for eligible communities.

"From the perspective of supervising the subsidy system, (Pertamina Patra Niaga) has identified fraud involving 394 thousand vehicle numbers that we have blocked," said Mars Ega Legowo Putra, President Director of Patra Niaga, to Antara on Monday (17/11).

Ega said that the customers' license plate numbers were blocked due to suspected fraud when purchasing subsidized fuel.

However, Ega did not detail the fraud that Pertamina has found in recent times.

He only mentioned that the blocking was done to prevent them from purchasing subsidized fuel in the future.

In addition, Pertamina Patra Niaga has also provided guidance to 544 public fuel filling stations (SPBU) as of mid-November 2025.

With the various efforts above, he hopes that Pertamina's service to consumers can be better.

Moreover, the state-owned company has also ensured energy distribution to the remote corners of Indonesia through 231 facilities.

This includes fuel terminals, LPG terminals, and aircraft refueling depots operating in various regions.

Hoarding of 1,000 Liters of Subsidized Diesel Found

As a reminder, the purchase of subsidized fuel cannot be done indiscriminately. Only certain vehicles can purchase Pertalite and Diesel.

The government has created this regulation, and it has been in effect since October 1, 2024. So, only people who own a barcode can enjoy subsidized fuel.

However, some time ago, Indah Amperawati, the Regent of Lumajang, conducted a sting operation (OTT) against a suspected hoarder of subsidized diesel.

The operation was carried out 200 meters south of the SPBU in Labruk Lor Village, Lumajang District. Indah found 10 barcodes controlled by a truck driver with the initials UP.

Pertamina has since blocked the barcodes and license plate numbers used to hoard 1,000 liters of subsidized diesel.
