KatadataOTO – Natural disasters are currently striking North to West Sumatra. Flash floods and landslides have caused people to lose property and even their lives.
To ease the existing burden, Pertamina Lubricants is also distributing aid through the Peduli Sumatera (Care for Sumatra) program.
This includes free motorcycle oil changes and basic food packages, intended for residents in a number of locations affected by the natural disasters.
The program is part of Pertamina Lubricants' commitment to helping meet basic needs and restoring community mobility post-disaster.
This is also to accelerate post-disaster handling in the West Sumatra and North Sumatra regions.
“We pray for all affected residents to be granted safety, strength, and a speedy recovery,” said Sigit Pranowo, President Director of Pertamina Lubricants, in an official statement on Thursday (04/12).
Sigit explained that people whose motorcycles were submerged in water can take advantage of the free oil change service.
The service is available at a number of Pertamina Lubricants partner workshops and can be used until December 5, 2025.
This state-owned company will also send 105 empty drums and 10 intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) to assist with fuel mobility.
“Hopefully, the free oil change service and basic food aid from Pertamina Lubricants can slightly ease the burden during this difficult time,” Sigit continued.
In addition to the general public, Pertamina Lubricants is also providing support to partner workshops and distributors in the affected areas.
The aid comes in the form of basic food packages and house cleaning services as part of the company's ongoing commitment to care.
“We will continue to support the community until conditions gradually recover,” he added.
After North and West Sumatra, Pertamina Lubricants will next distribute this aid program to several flood-affected areas in Aceh.
“This free oil aid program is expected to minimize the impact of damage to residents' motor vehicles in the flood and landslide-affected areas,” Sigit affirmed.
Sigit also hopes that the conditions in West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh can recover soon.
So that community activities can return to normal, and they will not linger in sorrow but be able to rise again.
For your information, various parties have been helping the victims of natural disasters in Sumatra for some time now.
