Six Puncak Car Free Night Checkpoints

KatadataOTO – The Bogor Regency Government has confirmed it will hold a Car Free Night in the Puncak area during New Year's Eve. This measure is being taken to prevent severe traffic congestion in the area.

According to the schedule from the Bogor Police Traffic Management Center (TMC), vehicles heading to Puncak will be diverted starting on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. The road closures will begin at 18:00 WIB until Thursday, January 1, 2026, at 06:00 WIB.

The closures will be implemented at six locations and will be guarded by dozens of joint officers from the police, Transportation Agency (Dishub), Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), and Samapta. It is hoped that this will prevent anyone from daring to violate the rules.

The government has also prepared several parking areas for people with vehicles. One of them is located on the inner ring of Pakansari Stadium and in the Jalan Jenderal Sudirman area.

A contraflow system will also be implemented in the area, so it is hoped that traffic flow can be more optimal.

Traffic flow from Jakarta towards Cianjur or Bandung will be completely diverted. The route diversion will be directed through the Sukabumi route.

Travelers are advised to use alternative routes, such as the Cibubur – Cileungsi – Jonggol – Cariu – Cikalong – Cianjur route.

Car Free Night Held in Other Areas

Besides Puncak, Bogor Regency will also hold a Car Free Night on Jalan Tegar Beriman, Cibinong. This step is taken to provide convenience for people who want to celebrate New Year's Eve.

This activity will later apply a similar pattern to the Car Free Day that already takes place at that location. Therefore, it is hoped that people can more easily adapt to celebrating New Year's Eve.

Later, this route will be completely cleared of motorized vehicles. Meanwhile, parking locations will be provided in special areas so as not to disrupt activities during the event.
