KatadataOTO – Throughout 2025, dozens of new car models were launched in the Indonesian market. Interestingly, this year saw many electrification products, both hybrid and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV).

A lineup of manufacturers from China has increasingly enlivened the country's automotive market thanks to the provision of incentives for imported electric cars, which ends this year.

It should be noted that there are several brands receiving incentives for imported electric cars, such as BYD, Geely, and Xpeng.

Incentives for locally assembled electric cars are also being continued in 2025. Japanese manufacturer Toyota has decided to assemble the bZ4X domestically, making it eligible to receive subsidies.

Gasoline car options are also still available. Hyundai brought in the Creta Facelift at the beginning of the year. The model recorded wholesales (distribution from factory to dealer) of 4,257 units in the January-November 2025 period.

This makes it one of the largest contributors to Hyundai's wholesales in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the Stargazer Cartenz and Cartenz X contributed 1,905 units in the same period.

Their car models targeting the upper segment consumer also indicate a positive trend, with 994 units supplied to dealers.

Closing out 2025, the BYD Atto 1 entered the automotive market with a price tag about Rp 100 million lower.

Thanks to this, the BYD Atto 1 became the best-selling new car in Indonesia despite not being on the market for long. Gaikindo data shows that the Atto 1's wholesales since its launch reached 17,729 units.
