Chery revives the Rely brand, which had been dormant for many years, focusing on eco-friendly pickups.
KatadataOTO – Pickup trucks are one of the most popular types of vehicles in various parts of the world, including China. Throughout March 2025, sales are claimed to have reached 58,000.
As many as 2,700 of these units are environmentally friendly pickup trucks, including hybrids and pure electric or BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) models.
Recently, Chery is known to have revived several of its sub-brands that had ceased operations a few years ago, such as QQ and Fulwin.
This time, the Rely brand, which was active in the automotive world in the 2009s, is returning from its hiatus. Chery has announced that Rely will become a brand focused on the pickup truck segment.
In the future, pickups produced by Rely will include gasoline-powered models, electric models, as well as PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) and EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) models.
“Rely is an acronym for rebuild, explore, link, and yield,” wrote a report from Carnewschina, quoted on Monday (21/04).
In the future, Rely will introduce 16 models built on Chery's Mars architecture. The platform has been optimized for both hybrid and gasoline-powered vehicles.
Rely vehicles will be equipped with various latest technologies such as the Lion cockpit system, Falcon Smart Driving System, and other features supported by AI (Artificial Intelligence).
