BYD M9 Registered in Indonesia, Economical Variant of Denza D9

Still on the topic of exterior design, the accent on the D-pillar is one of the features that makes it identical to the Denza D9. However, upon closer inspection, the BYD M9's grille is simpler, featuring a pattern of horizontal chrome lines.

If it launches in Indonesia, this will be BYD's first hybrid car in the Indonesian market. The popularity of PHEVs has the potential to grow stronger due to their efficiency and practicality, as owners do not need to rely entirely on Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU).

The BYD M9 is equipped with a 1,500 cc turbocharged engine combined with BYD's fifth-generation DM-i hybrid technology. 

The engine produces 115 kW (154 hp) of power, while the electric motor provides an additional 200 kW, equivalent to 268.2 hp.

Then, two LFP battery options are offered, which can be chosen according to the owner's needs. The first type uses a 20.39 kWh capacity battery with a pure electric range of 100 kilometers.

Meanwhile, the other type uses a larger 36.6 kWh battery, and the range in Electric Vehicle (EV) mode for this variant is claimed to be 180 kilometers.

The combined range when the gas tank and battery are 100 percent full can accommodate a journey of up to 945 kilometers.

There is no further information yet regarding the launch of the BYD M9, but the manufacturer might leverage the momentum of the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026 while waiting for improvements in the economic conditions and purchasing power of the Indonesian people.
