The eco-friendly BYD Sealion 7 Hybrid SUV will be sold at a competitive price, and here are its leaked specifications.
Its side profile is no less elegant. Like most other BYD cars, its door handles are the flush type to enhance the sleek feel of the Sealion 7 Hybrid.
The D-pillar design with a black strip accent is one of the identities or characteristics of the BYD Sealion 7 Hybrid.
Moving to the rear, the Sealion 7 Hybrid's taillights are still the same as other BYD SUV lineups, featuring a through-type concept.
Regarding dimensions, it is stated that the L x W x H of the BYD Sealion 7 are 4,880 mm x 1,920 mm x 1,750 mm with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm.
The interior is also identical to the majority of new cars from Chinese manufacturers. A large head unit is a must, measuring 15.6 inches, while the instrument panel for the driver is 10.25 inches.
Regarding safety factors, BYD claims the Sealion 7 Hybrid is equipped with a capable safety system, including an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
Regarding the engine, the Sealion 7 Hybrid uses BYD's fifth-generation hybrid technology, combining the performance of a 1,500 cc turbocharged engine and one electric motor.
The first variant uses front-wheel drive (FWD), while other types are equipped with four-wheel drive (4WD).
Its comprehensive driving range is claimed to reach 1,320 kilometers. Meanwhile, if relying solely on the battery, the Sealion 7 Hybrid can travel 135 to 150 kilometers.
Considering that SUVs are still in demand by local consumers, the BYD Sealion 7 Hybrid has a chance of being introduced.
Moreover, Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) technology seems to be gaining recognition among the public after brands like Chery and Wuling brought their products to Indonesia.
Chery offers the Tiggo 8 and Tiggo 9 Hybrid, while Wuling presents the Cortez Darion PHEV.
For the Indonesian market, it seems BYD is instead preparing the Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) M9 PHEV.
If launched, the M9 would be BYD's first hybrid car in Indonesia and an alternative to the Denza D9 with what is believed to be a more competitive price tag.
