KatadataOTO – Chery Tiggo 8 CSH is finally officially on sale for the Indonesian market. The arrival of this four-wheeled vehicle has immediately become a highlight.

This is because this PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) car is offered at a fairly affordable price, which is Rp 499 million for the first 1,000 buyers.

Afterward, the price of the Chery Tiggo 8 CSH will increase to the normal price of Rp 519 million OTR (On The Road) Jakarta.

"So, I was also surprised by this price. When it was presented, my heart was bleeding, but the point is for the first 1,000 people to be able to see the latest technology," said Zheng Shuo, Vice President of CSI (Chery Sales Indonesia) in Jakarta, on Thursday (15/05).

Shuo stated that with the price they are offering, they hope to get a positive response from consumers in the country.

Moreover, it can serve as an educational platform for the public regarding environmentally friendly technologies like PHEV.

A similar sentiment was expressed by Budi Darmawan, Sales Director of CSI. He stated that the price of the Chery Tiggo 8 CSH is one of their key strategies to attract consumers in the country.

He emphasized the desire to sell as many Chery PHEV cars as possible in the first month after the launch.

"We are targeting for the first month, if the market reacts positively, which we believe it will with this price, then we have prepared a substantial production volume," said Budi.

Furthermore, Budi said that the price of the Chery Tiggo 8 CSH is considered quite aggressive for a PHEV car. Therefore, it is expected to be competitive in the increasingly crowded electrification market.

For your information, the price of PHEV cars in Indonesia is considered quite expensive. Like those offered by Mazda.

The Japanese manufacturer sells its environmentally friendly four-wheeled vehicle, the Mazda CX-80 PHEV, at around Rp 1.1 billion.
