The lithium battery industry is affected by the projected decline in electric vehicle sales in China.
By Satrio Adhy
It was mentioned that Hunan Yuneng New Energy, a major supplier of lithium-ion battery cathode materials in China, will raise prices on January 1, 2026.
The processing fee for the entire range of lithium iron phosphate products will be raised by 3,000 yuan or around Rp 7 million per ton, excluding tax.
A similar move was also made by Dejia Energy. They announced that on December 16, 2025, battery prices will also increase by 15 percent.
Meanwhile, in Indonesia, Chinese electric car manufacturers utilizing the Completely Built Up (CBU) incentives must fulfill their obligations to the government.
Such as establishing independent factories in the country. Then producing locally and marketing EVs according to the import quotas they have set.
The situation above will cause electric car prices to soar. Especially since incentives from the Indonesian government also end in December 2025.
