KatadataOTO – Sales of Chinese cars are not doing well in Indonesia. They hit a bit of a stumbling block in May 2025.
As is being felt by Jetour. They are the only manufacturer from China to be hit the hardest.
According to combined data from the Association of Indonesia Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), Jetour shipped 20 units of their four-wheeled vehicles from the factory to dealers (wholesales) last month.
This number is the same as the achievement in April 2025. So there was no change at all.
Meanwhile, when compared to February and March 2025, it is very different. Because in those two months, Jetour shipped 82 and 64 units, respectively.
So, the total wholesale of four-wheeled vehicles from the brand from the Land of the Bamboo Curtain in 2025 is 186 units.
On the other hand, the decline in Jetour's car sales is very noticeable on the retail side, or from dealers to consumers in the country.
Still based on the same data, in May 2025 Jetour was only able to sell 11 of its products.
Compared to the achievement in April 2025, there was a significant drop of 80 percent from 55 units.
Meanwhile, in February and March 2025, Jetour managed to sell 60 and 50 units of their four-wheeled vehicles, respectively.
Overall, Jetour's retail sales in the country were only at 176 cars in four months.
An achievement that is considered less than satisfactory for an automotive manufacturer from China.
KatadataOTO has tried to contact Jetour to ask for clarification regarding their plummeting sales last month.
However, there has been no response from them as of the time this news was written and published on Wednesday (11/06).
