There are a number of issues with the combination meter, cabin heater, and Parking Assist ECU on 29 Toyota and Lexus models.
KatadataOTO – A total of 28 car models produced by Toyota in Indonesia are affected by a recall. This also includes a range of cars from their sub-brand, Lexus.
PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) announced that several components need to be checked, such as the combination meter, electric cabin heater, and Parking Assist ECU.
Toyota is committed to paying attention to all types of vehicles that have been marketed in Indonesia. The recall is one manifestation of its commitment.
“Currently, we have found that some vehicle components in certain production years of Toyota and Lexus models require checking and replacement if necessary,” said Henry Tanoto, Vice President Director of PT TAM in his official statement, quoted Saturday (20/12).
Therefore, consumers are advised to check through the official website, contact the call center, or visit the nearest authorized workshop directly.
In total, 28 Toyota vehicle models have potential issues. 10 of them are related to the combination meter.
It was mentioned that there is suboptimal programming in the component, so unnecessary data could potentially be written repeatedly to the memory device, causing an overload.
Then, the monitor might not turn on when the engine is started, causing the driver to operate the vehicle without any information from the instrument panel. The following is a list of affected vehicles.
