KatadataOTO – The two-wheeled vehicle industry received a breath of fresh air at the start of 2025. Because the government plans to provide a stimulus.

According to circulating news, the electric motorcycle conversion incentive will be disbursed again for the public in the country this year.

“For the electric vehicle ecosystem, ESDM (Energy and Mineral Resources) is overseeing the electric motorcycle conversion. As per the minister's direction, the incentive will be continued,” said Eniya Listiani Dewi, Director General of NREEC (New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation) of the Ministry of ESDM to Antara.

Eniya stated that this assistance is important to provide. This is to support the development of the electric two-wheeled vehicle ecosystem in the country.

However, she could not yet explain in detail the assistance that will be provided. Because the discussion process is still ongoing.

This includes the amount of the electric motorcycle conversion incentive that will be disbursed to the public, as well as the target for this year.

“As for the companies (that will cooperate), we will announce it later,” she said.

On the other hand, Eniya revealed that throughout 2024, a total of 1,111 converted two-wheeled vehicles received assistance from the government.

The figure above is claimed to have increased sharply compared to 2023. Because in the previous year, there were only 145 units.

“A good increase to further boost electric motorcycle conversions this year,” concluded Eniya.

She also hopes that the electric motorcycle conversion incentive will be well received by the public, so that the assistance can be fully absorbed.

On the other hand, the news of this incentive being provided was welcomed by several parties. For example, Aismoli (Indonesian Electric Motorcycle Association).
