KatadataOTO – The controversy over automotive incentives is still a hot topic. Because many car manufacturers are hoping for them.

Especially for them, Electric Vehicle (EV) producers, which are then marketed to consumers in the country.

“If there are incentives, it could be an advantage for consumers,” said Mohamad Ilham Pratama, Head of Marketing for Jaecoo Indonesia, in a Forwot discussion titled Indonesia Automotive Outlook 2026.

At the event, which took place in Sentul, Bogor, West Java on Friday (23/01), Ilham assessed that government assistance could encourage people to buy electric cars.

Considering automotive incentives become an additional benefit when they purchase an electric car from Jaecoo.

“Actually, it's very important, because we are connecting and developing the ecosystem, it becomes a new car option,” Ilham continued.

Nevertheless, Jaecoo has prepared a backup plan if President Prabowo Subianto and the ministers do not want to provide assistance.

This is to keep the electric car market stimulated. So even without automotive incentives, people will still want to own Jaecoo's electrification line.

“We have prepared, meaning there are several plans that we have prepared,” said Ilham.

However, Ilham was reluctant to explain further about the plans Jaecoo would implement if the incentives are not disbursed this year.

He stated that currently, the brand from China is still waiting for the government's decision.

“So this month we will inform the public about the plans we have prepared for our product lineup, especially for EVs,” Ilham emphasized.

Jaecoo ensures that what they have prepared will not burden consumers. Especially for buyers who want to own an electric car.
