New Motorcycle Wholesales Successfully Reached 6.4 Million Units by 2025

KatadataOTO – The new motorcycle market showed a very positive performance in 2025. This is known from data from the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI).

Reporting from the official AISI website on Friday (09/01), factory-to-dealer distribution (wholesales) in December 2025 reached 461,925 units for the domestic market.

The figure above does show a decrease compared to November 2025. Because the previous month was at 523,591 units.

This means there is a difference of about 11.7 percent, or 61,666 units, between the achievements in December and November 2025.

However, when compared to the results in the same period in 2024, it shows an increase.

There was an increase of 14.4 percent compared to 403,480 units throughout December 2024.

Meanwhile, when accumulated throughout last year, it successfully finished at the level of 6,412,769 units. This is 1.2 percent higher than the 6,333,310 units in 2024.

A quite positive achievement for the new motorcycle industry. Considering 2025 was not an easy period.

Various challenges hindered the performance of the two-wheeled vehicle market. Such as credit tightening in early 2025.

The exchange rate of the rupiah against the US dollar continued to weaken. Even breaking through to Rp 16,000.

As well as the unstable economic situation in the country and globally. Causing a sharp decline in public purchasing power.

However, Astra Honda Motor (AHM), Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and TVS were able to strive to stimulate the market.

On the other hand, new motorcycle wholesales for the export market also showed similar results. Last month, it recorded 41,541 units.
