According to observers, contraflow will have both positive and negative effects for toll road users.
"The positive effect is that it can increase road capacity, traffic performance, and accelerate the flow in a certain direction," said Budiyanto, a transportation and law observer, in his statement.
Budiyanto then explained that there is a significant risk lurking for travelers when passing through a contraflow lane.

First is the potential for accidents, as the contraflow lane is only separated by traffic cones. This makes it prone to head-on collisions between vehicles if drivers are not careful.
Especially if drivers experience fatigue and decreased stamina after driving a four-wheeled vehicle for a long time.
"The contraflow area has no rest stops or rest areas, so road users must be extra careful. Ensure the vehicle's condition and the driver's stamina are in prime condition," he said.
Therefore, the public is urged to maintain concentration, so they can avoid accidents during the 2025 Eid homecoming.
