Mitsubishi Fuso is awaiting government action regarding the presence of Chinese trucks, which are considered very detrimental.

KatadataOTO – The presence of Chinese trucks in Indonesia continues to be a concern for many parties. Because these vehicles are considered non-compliant with regulations.
In fact, the presence of these products from China seems to be ignored. There is no action from the relevant authorities.
“We have complained to the ministry, we have tried to communicate with the Gaikindo association to help us voice our complaints, but until now there has been no concrete action from the government,” said Aji Jaya, Sales and Marketing Director of KTB, in Surabaya, East Java some time ago.
Aji explained that Mitsubishi Fuso is actually waiting for firm action from many parties regarding the presence of Chinese trucks.
Considering that various parties feel the same way. Especially Japanese manufacturers who have invested in Indonesia.
“If they continue to be ignored, they can penetrate the market unfairly. Have you heard about that mining exhibition, the vehicles displayed were Euro 2, Euro 3 (and) we are required to be Euro 4, that's not fair,” continued Aji.
Mitsubishi Fuso asks the government to act quickly to regulate the presence of Chinese trucks in Indonesia.
Moreover, rumors are circulating that many Chinese trucks do not undergo vehicle testing. Thus, they can be dangerous if used on public roads.
“Hopefully, the trucks entering (Indonesia) should have the same procedures as us. They must go through testing, through proper documentation requirements,” Aji asserted.
In addition, Chinese trucks are also asked to have similar technology standards, as required by the government by using Euro 4 engines.
It was further explained that the arrival of Chinese trucks in Indonesia is suspected to have caused the commercial vehicle market to plummet.
According to Aji, this is because the large vehicles from China in Indonesia are not registered in Gaikindo's data.
“The Chinese trucks that go directly to the mines are not recorded, because they are not members of Gaikindo, and the numbers are said to be large,” concluded Aji.
For your information, the influx of illegally imported Chinese trucks has made competition in the commercial vehicle market unhealthy.
Moreover, these products from the Land of the Bamboo Curtain are not required to meet Euro 4 certification requirements like Mitsubishi Fuso and other manufacturers.
Meanwhile, Mitsubishi Fuso and other manufacturers are required to comply with this regulation. Therefore, Aji considers the existing competition to be unfair.
