First Drive Chery Tiggo 8 CSH, Offers EV-like Driving Sensation

The maximum power is most felt when sport mode is activated, as the throttle becomes more responsive than when using normal or eco mode. So for city use, this output can be said to be more than enough.

Uniquely, the Chery Tiggo 8 CSH's gas pedal is a floor-mounted or organ-style model, not a hanging one. 

For us, this makes the foot position more comfortable and flexible when moving to the brake pedal. Plus, there is a footrest for the left foot.

The Tiggo 8 CSH is also equipped with various safety sensors, similar to what we felt when trying the Omoda E5.

There is a graphic of the vehicles surrounding the car displayed on the instrument panel. So we could anticipate the possibility of being sideswiped by cars or motorcycles nearby.

The sensors and cameras on the Tiggo 8 CSH can display the conditions outside the vehicle when the driver activates the left or right turn signal.

Similar to the safety features in Hyundai electric cars, it's just that the camera feed of the Chery Tiggo 8 CSH is displayed on the head unit instead of the instrument panel.

Conclusion

Due to limited time, KatadataOTO could not fully explore the various features of the Chery Tiggo 8 CSH.

However, in general, we conclude that this car has capable power for urban use. It also seems adequate for tackling varied road terrains like those in the regions.

The flexibility of electric and gasoline charging is an advantage for those who want to experience an EV-style driving sensation.

One drawback we felt was that the front suspension setting felt too soft, making it less comfortable when going over uneven roads at normal speed. The Chery Tiggo 8 CSH uses an independent front and rear multilink suspension.

Then, the mirror adjustment via the head unit is too complicated. It would be better if the left and right mirror controls were easily accessible in the driver's cabin area.
