First Impression Chery Tiggo 9 CSH, Combines Power and Luxury

The engine sound was occasionally loud as the generator charged the battery.

The suspension is tuned to optimally absorb shocks while still feeling rigid when driving at high speeds.

Furthermore, the cabin's soundproofing is supported by Noise Reduction technology, which is claimed to reduce noise to 72 dBA at high speeds of up to 120 km/h.

Just like in the Tiggo 8 CSH, the soundproof cabin remains one of the plus points of Chery's PHEV lineup.

The next route was the acceleration lane. On paper, the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH is claimed to be able to go from 0-100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds.

When the accelerator was first pressed, the instant torque characteristic of an electric car was immediately felt, pushing the car to 100 km/h without significant difficulty.

This is possible because the Tiggo 9 CSH is powered by a turbo Dedicated Hybrid Engine (DHE), specially formulated for hybrid vehicles.

Its performance is also supported by a large 34.4 kWh battery, with power delivered to all wheels through a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT).

The maximum power of the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH is 610 hp, while its peak torque is 920 Nm.

Based on data collected by Chery, the acceleration times of the test drive participants were in the five-second range.

The final route was the obstacle course, where the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH had to traverse an uneven road surface to demonstrate the SUV's AWD capabilities.

The system in the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH allows traction to be distributed to all wheels as needed, moving the car forward even on obstacles with minimal traction.

Unfortunately, we could not directly test the Chery Tiggo 9 CSH's efficiency claims on a long journey, as the testing was conducted in a limited capacity at the proving ground.

Conclusion

The Chery Tiggo 9 CSH can be considered an option for consumers who want a luxury SUV that balances comfort and toughness.

In addition to its seven-passenger capacity, it has capable cabin features such as Ventilated Seats in the first and second rows.

The car is also comfortable to drive because it offers abundant power, making the driver confident in facing various road conditions.

One point to note is that the engine sound is occasionally loud in the cabin when the battery is being charged by the electric motor system acting as the Tiggo 9 CSH's generator. We did not experience this in the Tiggo 8 CSH.
