Honda Claims to Maintain Stock in 2025 Amid Plummeting Wholesales

Toyota remains the best-selling car brand in Indonesia with retail sales of 20,072 units.

KatadataOTO – Car sales in Indonesia are facing challenges again. This is because retail sales in September 2025 experienced a decline compared to the previous month.
Based on Gaikindo data, car sales from dealers to consumers amounted to 63,723 units. That figure is down 2,795 units or about 4.3 percent compared to the previous month's 66,518 units.
The difference is even greater when compared to the achievement in September 2024. At that time, the market was able to absorb 72,601 units, or 12.2 percent more than the current period.
With this, the total retail sales achieved by Indonesia from January to September 2025 is 585,917 units. That number is down 10.9 percent from the same period last year, which was 657,448 units.
Toyota became the most in-demand car manufacturer in the market throughout September 2025. The Japanese manufacturer managed to sell 20,072 units, a decrease of 3.2 percent compared to the previous month's achievement of 20,733 units.
Then in second place is Daihatsu, whose retail sales reached 11,390 units. That number grew by 3.5 percent from August 2025, as only 11,008 units were sold in that period.
The third position was filled by Mitsubishi Motors after successfully achieving sales figures of 5,703 units in September 2025. This figure is actually down 7.4 percent from the previous month, which recorded 6,161 units.
Suzuki ranked fourth in largest retail sales with an achievement of 5,477 units. That number is 3.9 percent smaller than in August, when it reached 5,700 units.
Honda closes the top five best-selling brands in Indonesia in September 2025 with sales of 4,600 units. That record is down 13.5 percent compared to the previous month, when 5,317 units were delivered to customers.
