KatadataOTO – Besides sales, car production in Indonesia in 2025 also experienced a decline compared to the previous year. This is evident from Gaikindo data, which shows a significant correction.
The data shows that the total car production throughout 2025 was 1,147,600 units. This figure is 4.1 percent smaller than the previous year's total of 1,196,664 units.
Toyota remains the brand that produces the most cars in the country. They are recorded to have produced 511,248 units, contributing 43.2 percent of the total national four-wheeled vehicle production.
Although still the largest, their production fell by 5,749 units, or 1.1 percent smaller than the previous year. In 2024, they managed to produce 516,997 units.
The largest decrease was experienced by Honda, as they were only able to produce 51,112 units. This is a difference of 44,452 units, or 46.5 percent, compared to 2024's total of 95,564 units.
Daihatsu also experienced a production decline, having only made 130,441 units. This figure is a correction of 33,068 units, or about 20.2 percent, from the previous year's 163,509 units.
However, the most striking decline was from Neta, as in 2025 they did not produce a single vehicle. This is despite the fact that in 2024, the Chinese manufacturer was able to produce 1,225 units.
Although there was a general decline, several manufacturers managed to increase their vehicle production. One of them is Mitsubishi Motors, which produced 166,180 units throughout 2025, an increase of 28,925 units or 21.1 percent compared to the previous year's achievement.
Additionally, Suzuki also successfully increased its vehicle production throughout 2025. The manufacturer with the 'S' logo produced 87,945 units, contributing 7.2 percent to the total national production.
In 2024, Suzuki only produced 73,437 units, or 14,508 units fewer than in 2025. This record now places them in the fourth position for the largest production in the country.
