2-Ton Methamphetamine Smuggling Case Worth 8,000 Innova Zenix Units

KatadataOTO – A massive methamphetamine smuggling attempt has been successfully thwarted. This was carried out by a joint team from the BNN (National Narcotics Agency), TNI AL (Navy), and Customs.

A total of two tons of the illicit goods were successfully seized at the Customs Pier, Tanjung Uncang, Batam.

“According to BNN data, the uncovering of the smuggling of approximately two tons of methamphetamine is the largest in Indonesian history in a single operation,” said Police Commissioner General Marthinus Hukom, Head of the BNN, as previously reported by Katadata.

It was further stated that the two tons of methamphetamine transported by the KM MT Sea Dragon Tarawa have an estimated value of IDR 5 trillion.

It was said that all the narcotics were placed in 67 boxes in the hull of the KM MT Sea Dragon.

Each box contained 30 kilograms of the illicit substance. They were then stored in the ship's hold and engine room.
