60 Chery Omoda E5 Units Delivered to Bank BSI

KatadataOTO – PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) held a handover ceremony for 60 units of the Omoda E5 at IIMS 2025. The dozens of electric cars will become operational vehicles for BSI (Bank Syariah Indonesia).

The step taken by both parties is a form of support for the Net Zero Emission (NZE) vision for 2060.

It was stated that the purchase of up to 60 units of the Chery Omoda E5 is just the beginning. In the future, there will be many more collaborations with Bank BSI.

“We hope this collaboration can inspire other institutions to contribute to creating a greener Indonesia. May the synergy between CSI and BSI grow stronger in the future,” said Willy Winawan, Regional Manager of PT CSI at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta (20/02).

Later, the 60 units of the Chery Omoda E5 will be distributed to all BSI branches throughout Indonesia, with the hope of strengthening their position in the country's Islamic banking industry.

BSI itself has started using green energy in its work environment. Two buildings located in Aceh and Jakarta have already installed solar panels.

“This year, we are first testing with 60 vehicles. The BSI network has more than 1,000 branches, so it is possible that we will increase the number of Chery electric vehicles,” said Praka Mulia Agung, Senior Vice President of Consumer Business at BSI, at the same location.

In addition to making dozens of Chery Omoda E5 electric cars operational vehicles, Bank BSI is also opening an ownership program for its employees.

This will then be extended to their customers, so that the use of Chery EVs in the country can increase further.

“As of the end of last year, we had more than 21 million customers who can be offered environmentally friendly products. Our financing scheme is not based on interest but on margin; the term is murabahah,” explained Praka.

During the IIMS 2025 automotive exhibition, BSI customers can own a range of Chery electric cars with special offers. These include installments with a margin scheme, a 0 percent down payment, and a tenor of up to 7 years.

For your information, Bank BSI applies a margin of around 2 percent of the on-the-road price of Chery cars.
