KatadataOTO – In 2023 and 2024, Auto2000 managed to capture at least 40 percent of the total sales of Toyota in Indonesia. This amount is claimed to be the largest compared to other dealer partners.
Even though currently car sales in Indonesia are experiencing a decline, Auto2000 has actually managed to experience an increase in demand.
“So even though many say sales are declining, in the first 4 months, Auto2000's market share of Toyota sales rose to 41 percent,” said Anton Jimmi Suwandi, CEO of Auto2000 (22/05).
Although he did not specify the figures, he considers this achievement a positive result. The high sales figures contributed by Auto2000 to Toyota are also claimed to be proof that the public truly trusts their services.
“We now have 177 branches and over 500 mobile service units spread throughout Indonesia. So I believe these things can give customers the confidence to buy Toyota products,” he affirmed.
Not only that, he also sees that Toyota's current achievements are even more interesting than before. Because amidst economic pressure and the emergence of competitors, their units have not experienced a significant decline.
“If I look at the retail sales, Toyota's sales are actually still similar to last year, even though other manufacturers have dropped quite sharply,” he then added.
It should be noted that Toyota is still the largest car manufacturer in Indonesia. From January to April 2025, their retail sales reached 86,908 units.
That number declined by 6.1 percent or about 5,639 units compared to the achievement in 2024, which was 92,547 units.
Interestingly, the market share achieved by Toyota actually grew to 32.5 percent compared to last year's 31.9 percent.
However, for wholesales, the record is slightly different. Sales from January to April 2025 actually grew by 5.3 percent to 85,032 units. Whereas in the previous period, they were only able to ship 80,786 units, or 4,246 units lower.
Toyota's market share of the national market in the first four months also grew from 30.6 percent to 33.2 percent.
