KatadataOTO – BYD is preparing another new electrified model, a variation of one of their flagship cars, the Seal. Interestingly, this time the Seal comes in a wagon form with PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) technology.

The exterior appearance of the Seal Wagon was revealed by regulators in China, although it has not been officially launched. Reported by CnEVPost, Monday (24/03), BYD is known to have recently registered a patent for the Seal 06 wagon.

For your information, data from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology shows a lineup of models that will be sold to the public in the future.

It was mentioned that there will be two variants of the BYD Seal wagon, both equipped with PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) technology.

In terms of dimensions, the BYD Seal wagon PHEV measures 4,850 mm x 1,890 mm x 1,505 mm with a wheelbase of 2,790 mm.

For comparison, this is only slightly longer than the BYD Seal sedan which has been marketed domestically with dimensions of 4,800 mm x 1,875 mm x 1,460 mm.

Although there is no complete information regarding specifications, the BYD Seal wagon is equipped with a 1,500cc capacity engine that can produce 72 kW (96.5 hp) of power.

Meanwhile, its two electric motor options are claimed to be able to produce 120 kW and 160 kW of power respectively, or the equivalent of 160 hp and 214 hp.

For your information, the arrival of the Seal Hybrid wagon has been widely rumored since early January 2025. Its price is believed to be not much different from the sedan version, in the range of 96,800 yuan to 136,800 yuan.
