KatadataOTO – BYD has been in Indonesia for almost two years. Various superior products have been marketed to consumers in the country.
This electric car manufacturer has consistently built a foundation of trust through superior vehicle quality and continuous technological education.
In addition, there is also the development of after-sales services. Then a commitment to safety and sustainability aspects.
The various efforts above have turned out to yield sweet results. They are able to dominate the Electric Vehicle (EV) market in the country.
BYD claims to contribute up to 54 percent or more than 37,600 electric cars. This number was recorded from January to October 2025.
This achievement has also pushed Indonesia's EV market penetration to 11 percent. Making BYD one of the significant contributors to the growth of the national automotive industry.
Among the various models sold, the BYD Atto 1 has become a favorite among domestic consumers. Especially as one of the new EV city cars.
Looking at data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) in October 2025, the small electric car was successfully distributed from factory to dealer (wholesales) with a total of 9,396 units.
This figure made the BYD Atto 1 the best-selling car in the country last month. A quite positive achievement.
Moreover, the number above was able to contribute about 88.7 percent of BYD's total wholesales throughout October 2025. Because last month, the brand from China distributed 10,593 EVs.
Affirming that the technology, efficiency, and modern driving experience offered by BYD can meet the needs of today's society.
This success is apparently still not enough. BYD also wants to make its mark at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025 event.
