KatadataOTO – Chery has achieved a new milestone. They are recorded as the first Chinese manufacturer to export 5 million vehicles.

According to Carnewschina, the number of Chery Group car users worldwide has reached 17.18 million units. Of this total, 5.17 million are users outside of China.

Based on reports, in July 2025, the car manufacturer successfully sold at least 224,439 units. This number is up 14.7 percent compared to the same period last year.

Not only that, Chery also set a new record in the New Energy Vehicle sector with sales of 65,357 units, an increase of 44.1 percent compared to the same period in 2024.

The manufacturer also secured its position as a vehicle exporter in China by shipping 119,090 units in July 2025. That figure grew by 31.9 percent from the previous year.

Meanwhile, their total sales from January to July 2025 were 1,484,563 units. That figure grew by 14.5 percent compared to the same period the previous year.

Of that total, exports of vehicles have reached 669,369 units.

In Indonesia, Chery is present with two brands, namely Chery and Jaecoo. Both are present with the hope of providing more choices to the public.

Its sales figures are not insignificant. Throughout the first half of 2025, Chery managed to record wholesales of 10,283 units. This number is enough to place them among the top 10 best-selling manufacturers in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, its retail sales in the first half of 2025 were 9,812 units. This figure is equivalent to 2.5 percent of the total market and places them in 11th rank.

As for Jaecoo, its records are not yet very significant. This is because the brand is still relatively new to the country.

Their wholesales were first recorded in June 2025 with sales figures reaching 120 units. This number places them in the 35th position.

Meanwhile, for retail sales, there are no records at all yet. That figure is certain to grow as vehicle deliveries to customers began in July 2025.
