KatadataOTO – Chery will launch a new electric Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) in collaboration with the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) Huawei.

The model will be marketed under their sub-brand, Luxeed. For your information, Luxeed was recently known to have been registered in Indonesia.

“HIMA’s first MPV, the Luxeed V9, a flagship work of art,” wrote HIMA in a post, quoted from CnEVPost, Sunday (14/12).

Targeting the luxury MPV segment, the Chery Luxeed V9 will reportedly be built on Huawei's DriveONE 800-volt platform.

It also features 192 LiDAR sensor points that support the operational security system and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) on the Luxeed V9.

Furthermore, the Chery Luxeed V9 will be available in Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) and Battery Electric Vehicle variants. The battery is supplied by CATL.

Several sources mention that the Chery Luxeed V9 will go on sale and be distributed to consumers in the first half of 2026.

The MPV is suspected to have started road tests in China. One of its units was seen wrapped in camouflage, giving a small glimpse of the Luxeed V9's exterior.

Its dimensions are quite large, with a length of at least 5.3 meters. At a glance, its posture looks like the Denza D9 electric MPV, which is already sold in Indonesia.

Speaking of the powertrain, the BEV version of the Chery Luxeed V9 is expected to use a 100 kWh capacity battery. The EREV type is equipped with a smaller battery whose capacity is not yet known.

For comparison, the Denza D9 uses a BYD Blade Battery with a capacity of 103 kWh.

This configuration allows the Denza D9 to offer a range of up to 600 km on a single charge.

Equipped with three electric motors, the Denza D9 can produce 308 hp and a peak torque of 360 Nm. Meanwhile, acceleration from 0-100 km/h can be achieved in just 9.5 seconds.

The technical specifications of the Chery Luxeed V9 are believed to be similar to the Denza D9. The main differentiator is the design and the inclusion of driving technology within it.

Considering the popularity of the Denza D9 at its launch in Indonesia, it is not impossible that the Chery Luxeed V9 will arrive to liven up the choice of competitively priced premium MPVs for Indonesian consumers in the future.
